Arenal Canopy Zipline

Twelve cables over the Pino Blanco and Fortuna waterfalls

About 2 hours Max 14 Moderate English, Spanish Age 7+

Overview

Arenal Mundo Aventura is a 240-hectare private reserve wrapped around the Catarata Rio Fortuna canyon, and its canopy circuit is the only one in La Fortuna that flies directly over two waterfalls. You clip in at the top of the ridge and cross a series of long cables strung above Pino Blanco and the 200-foot Fortuna waterfall, with the cone of Arenal Volcano filling the horizon behind you. Certified guides run the whole circuit, brake every landing for you, and keep the pace relaxed enough that first-timers never feel rushed. Between cables there are wooden platforms where the guides stop to point out toucans, howler monkeys and the reserve's orchid collection.

Zip lines are incredibly fun

We booked a 12 zip line tour with Arenal Mundo Adventura April 7, 2026, complete with round trip transportation for 10 people picked up at our resort. From Lester, our driver, to Allen, Jefferson, and others I apologize for not noting more names, we could not be more pleased and grateful for the exceptional experience. The guides would zip in tandem with the first timers scared but anxious to see how awesome zip lining can be. These guys are top notch, you can’t go wrong with them. Pura Vida!

AMA tour group was great! We did the 7 line cable but there’s a 12 cable option. Probably would do the 12 line next time because it was fun even though it rained. Ask the tour guide to let you know which cables go by the waterfalls or you will miss it if it’s raining because the rain had us closing our eyes. Wear hiking pants & bug spray for comfort & closed toed shoes

Had a great time, never been on a horse before but Danny showed us how to handle everything and we had a nice ride up to the trailhead and back. The trail itself is about 500 steps, fairly steep but well maintained and easy enough. Down at the bottom you’ve got to cross a narrow river that’s about three feet deep, and climb over some rocks to get up close to the waterfall, all of which was a lot of fun. Good idea to bring water shoes in addition to your regular shoes, plus a towel if you can pack it.
