About Osa Peninsula
The Osa Peninsula is Costa Rica at its wildest. Corcovado National Park protects one of the most biodiverse patches of rainforest on Earth, home to tapirs, scarlet macaws, and all four Costa Rican monkey species. Lodges are remote and travel is slow — that's the point.
When to go
December through April is driest. The green season is lusher and wildlife-rich but with wetter trails.
Getting there
Small plane from San José to Puerto Jiménez or Drake Bay is easiest; overland is a long 7 to 8 hour drive plus a boat or 4x4.
