Combo · Arenal / La Fortuna

Canopy, Volcano Hike, Lunch & Hot Springs

A full Arenal day, start to finish

About 9 hours Max 14 Moderate English, Spanish Age 7+

Overview

One departure, three landscapes. The morning is the waterfall canopy circuit; midday is a guided hike across the 1968 lava flow on the western flank of Arenal Volcano, where the ground is still black rock and the forest is only decades old; and the day ends in hot springs fed by the volcano itself. Lunch is a proper casado - rice, beans, plantain, salad and a protein - eaten between the hike and the springs. It is a long day but the sequence is deliberately front-loaded, so by the time you are tired you are sitting in hot water.

What travelers say about Arenal Mundo Aventura

Zip lines are incredibly fun

Had a great time, never been on a horse before but Danny showed us how to handle everything and we had a nice ride up to the trailhead and back. The trail itself is about 500 steps, fairly steep but well maintained and easy enough. Down at the bottom you’ve got to cross a narrow river that’s about three feet deep, and climb over some rocks to get up close to the waterfall, all of which was a lot of fun. Good idea to bring water shoes in addition to your regular shoes, plus a towel if you can pack it.

We booked a 12 zip line tour with Arenal Mundo Adventura April 7, 2026, complete with round trip transportation for 10 people picked up at our resort. From Lester, our driver, to Allen, Jefferson, and others I apologize for not noting more names, we could not be more pleased and grateful for the exceptional experience. The guides would zip in tandem with the first timers scared but anxious to see how awesome zip lining can be. These guys are top notch, you can’t go wrong with them. Pura Vida!

AMA tour group was great! We did the 7 line cable but there’s a 12 cable option. Probably would do the 12 line next time because it was fun even though it rained. Ask the tour guide to let you know which cables go by the waterfalls or you will miss it if it’s raining because the rain had us closing our eyes. Wear hiking pants & bug spray for comfort & closed toed shoes
