La Fortuna Waterfall, Volcano Hike, Lunch & Hot River
Arenal's three signature stops in one day
Overview
Arenal Jungle Tours' best seller, and the day most first-time visitors should book. You descend to the base of the 200-foot La Fortuna Waterfall and swim in its pool, hike the 1968 lava flow on the volcano's western flank with Lake Arenal spread out below, eat a full casado lunch, and finish soaking in the free thermal river that runs off the volcano - the same geothermally heated water the resorts charge sixty dollars for, in an open riverbed under the trees. A volcanic mud mask at the river is included. One guide, one vehicle, eight hours.
